Schaefer Inspection Service is a family-owned and operated property inspection company that provides a visual, non-invasive property condition analysis.

Tell us about your recent accomplishments.

The company has grown from a one-room office with two family members as the inspectors to an organization with 12 licensed professionals. The company has performed over 90,000 residential and commercial property condition inspections throughout Connecticut.

What are your family values and how do they contribute to your business success?

Our family business, thriving for 44 years so far, is committed to providing the best quality of service and client satisfaction; employee well-being; honesty, ethics, and integrity in our business dealings; contributing to our communities; maintaining financial stability; and being adaptable to a changing business climate in order to remain relevant, competitive and growth-oriented.

Where do you see your business in the next 5 years?

We are focused on using technology to increase efficiency, improve the client experience, and expand our data management and competitiveness. This will also allow for growth of our market share and service offerings. We will continue to train new inspectors to add to our team.

Do you have a business succession plan?

We are promoting from within and utilizing the skills of our three UConn Business School graduate sons, who are employed in high-level analytical positions within the commercial real estate industry and businesses. We will ensure that the next generation of management will be focused on the same level of quality and training to maintain our reputation.
