A multifamily housing development with affordable units has been proposed for a vacant lot on State Street in Hamden.
State Ridge LLC, of North Haven, is proposing a new 14,600-square-foot, 24-unit, two-story building at 1935 State St.
The complex would contain 22 one-bedroom units and two, two-bedroom units, with five units deemed affordable at 80% of the area median income, according to the application, which the Planning and Zoning Commission will review at its next meeting Aug. 13.
The parcel, which is just under an acre, had previously contained several mixed-use retail and residential buildings, all of which were demolished in 2016, according to the application.
The lots at 1935 and 1953 State St., and 10 Jean St., were combined into one lot in 2023, according to city land records.
State Ridge LLC is an affiliate of Elm City Industrial Properties and principal Richard Cuomo.
