New Haven-based ClimateHaven is partnering with Kaplak, an investment and advisory firm, to launch an accelerator program specifically geared toward climate technology entrepreneurs.
There will be two separate programs, both in 2024, at ClimateHaven. Each will support 10 companies pursuing technology aimed at helping Earth’s climate via decarbonization.
The first program, called “ReGen for Startups,” will run from April through June 2024. It is geared toward pre-seed and seed-stage founders at the technology development stage.
The second program, “ReGen for Scaleups,” runs from September through November 2024 and will support seed and Series A companies working to commercialize their technology.
Ryan Dings, CEO of ClimateHaven, said the purpose of the partnership and creation of the ReGen Accelerator is to build a regenerative economy by supporting breakthrough climate companies.
Participants will get assistance such as guidance, mentoring, capital investment and customer introductions.
Startups will engage in the “Dreams and Details” leadership framework developed by Mikael Trolle, former CEO of Volleyball Denmark, and Jim Hagemann Snabe, chair of Siemens and Northvolt and a founding partner at Kaplak, which is based in Copenhagen and New York City.
"With the launch of ReGen, we have a chance to bring our leadership experience to early-stage companies building at the forefront of the decarbonization revolution — which is the greatest business opportunity of our lifetime," Snabe said.
After graduating from the accelerator programs, companies will continue to get assistance from Kaplak advisors.
ClimateHaven, based at 770 Chapel St. in New Haven, is also hosting a formal grand opening at its headquarters, which features office, meeting and prototyping space, at 4 p.m. Nov. 9.
Companies may apply now for the Spring 2024 ReGen for Startups program at www.kaplakpartners.com/regen-application-form. Applications are due Nov. 15.
