New York-based investor Yitzchok Kaufman recently expanded his growing Connecticut portfolio with a $1.64 million purchase of an 18-unit New Britain apartment building.
Kaufman is principal of a limited liability company that acquired the two-story, brick-and-mortar-sided apartment building on a half-acre at 8 Hayes St., through a deed recorded by the city on Nov. 6. The 15,984-square-foot building dates to 1966.
Kaufman lists a New City, New York business address in state business records.
Brooklyn-based investor Abraham Indig is principal of the LLC that sold the New Britain property. He acquired it for $1.53 million in 2022, according to city records.
Earlier this year, Indig sold Kaufman a 50-unit New Britain apartment complex for $4.72 million.
Kaufman has repeatedly invested in the central Connecticut rental market over the past three years, with other purchases including:
A $3.75 million purchase of a 1969-vintage, 60-unit apartment building at 28 Scovill St., in Waterbury.
A $1.4 million purchase of a 16-unit building at 1054 Bank St., in Waterbury.
A $2.9 million purchase of a 32-unit apartment complex at 1083 Bank St., in Waterbury.
A $2.9 million purchase of a 61-unit building at 71 Plaza Ave., in Waterbury.
A $2.55 million purchase of a 32-unit building at 711 East Main St., in Torrington.
