Property and casualty insurer Travelers Co. has purchased airtime for a series of new documentary-style commercials based on real customer experiences.

The commercials, narrated in a first-person voice, are part of a company-wide “Who Cares?” campaign.

“The idea that remarkable things happen when people care is at the core of who we are at Travelers and the impact that we seek to have in the world,” said Alan Schnitzer, chairman and CEO of Travelers.

The advertisements highlight real customers’ experiences working with Travelers claim professionals who showed compassion and dedication.

One tells the story of a small-business owner whose bank account was emptied by cyber criminals. A claim professional understood time was of the essence and moved quickly.

Another tells the story of a young man who was injured at work. He recovered, but his prosthetic leg made it difficult to balance well enough to continue his passion, playing golf. A Travelers employee helped find a new prosthetic leg that allowed him to continue playing the game, which he is still able to do 40 years later.

Another tells the story of a customer whose dog was lost following a car crash. The claim professional made phone calls until he and his dog, “Max,” were reunited.

The dog advertisement will debut on June 16 during the final round of the U.S. Open on NBC.

The other commercials will first air on the Golf Channel on June 20 during the first day of competition at the Travelers Championship. All three ads also will air on CBS during the weekend of the Travelers Championship.

The Travelers Championship will be held June 22 and 23 at TPC River Highlands in Cromwell.

Travelers is headquartered in New York City, but its largest office is in Hartford.

There are six advertisements in the series. To see them, click here.
