The Connecticut chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA/CT) last week announced its 2019 Chrysalis Award winner, Patriquin Architects of New Haven.
The Chrysalis Award (formerly the Emerging Firm Award) is a peer-recognition honor spotlighting an AIA/CT member firm that has been in practice no less than two years and no more than 15 years and is gaining recognition in the general design community through a body of built work and continuing commitment to design excellence.
Helmed by principal/namesake Karin Patriquin and headquartered on Grand Avenue in Fair Haven, Patriquin Architects has delivered high-quality design to a range of clients and users, spanning multiple sectors and scales, according to AIA/CT. The firm’s design strategies minimize impact on the natural environment, maximize human health and well-being, and align with the sustainability goals of their clients.
“In choosing the 2019 Chrysalis award winner, the Design Committee agreed that Patriquin Architects not only met the criteria of a continuing commitment to design excellence, but the firm’s endeavors show a clear intent to focus on community projects in our state, doing so with the highest of standards," said Gina Calabro, AIA/CT’s executive director and CEO, in an announcement.
Patriquin Architects’ early focus was on private residential work throughout Connecticut, and now includes institutional (particularly early-childhood and K-6 education), commercial, and multi-family housing.
