Albertus Magnus College has appointed Rosa E. Rivera-Hainaj to be its new vice president of academic affairs and dean of faculty.
Rivera-Hainaj starts in the new role at the Catholic college on July 1, and she will replace Sean O’Connell, who is retiring after working at Albertus since 1987.
Rivera-Hainaj, whose background includes more than two decades in higher education, was picked following a nationwide search.
Rivera-Hainaj most recently served as provost at McDaniel College in Maryland. Her career also includes administrative and faculty roles at Our Lady of the Lake University, Lorain County Community College, Purdue University, James Madison University and John Carroll University.
Rivera-Hainaj is bilingual in English and Spanish, and her background includes teaching chemistry.

BILCO names new regional sales manager
New Haven-based BILCO Co. recently announced Josh Ralston has been hired as the company’s new regional sales manager.
Ralston will lead BILCO’s residential sales team in New England and territories in New York and New Jersey.
Ralston, a Massachusetts resident, has more than 15 years of experience in sales, management and customer service roles.
BILCO manufactures building material products such as basement doors, window wells and accessories.
Prior to joining BILCO, Ralston worked as an inside sales specialist and assistant branch manager for Timberline Enterprises in Massachusetts.
