Viking Construction Inc. is a general contractor and construction manager for large-scale projects that include housing, schools, churches, municipal buildings, hospitals, assisted living communities, country clubs, wastewater treatment facilities, pharmaceutical plants and private businesses.
Tell us a bit about your recent accomplishments.
Recent accomplishments include completing high-profile projects such as the $19.4 million Windward multiuse community in Bridgeport; the $45 million Strawberry Hill School in Stamford; and the comprehensive sports field at Danbury High School that included New England’s first state-of-the-art artificial turf field and Olympic-style Mondo Track.
What are your family values and how do they contribute to your business success?
The Gaglio family values come from its century-old roots in the construction industry. In addition to having a deep appreciation for quality and old-world craftsmanship, the Gaglio family operates with integrity, is fiscally responsible and pursues excellence. The Gaglios purposefully hire employees, tradesmen and subcontractors who share these values.
Where do you see your business in the next five years?
Today’s strained economy, increasing inflation, rising energy costs and serious supply chain challenges are all going to affect the construction field. As a result, Viking expects private projects to be put on hold or to be reduced in size and scope. Therefore, the company will focus more on government-sponsored projects.
What are your guiding business principles?
Viking Construction’s guiding principles are straightforward: listen to the client, deliver what is promised, maintain the highest standards in quality and safety and continuously look for ways to improve.
