What’s been your biggest professional accomplishment so far in your career?

Studying for and earning my WELL AP credential has helped me find my purpose and passion in the field of architecture. Going through design school — with my nose in books, writing and researching — can sometimes make you feel out of place. My mentors, WELL and other architectural psychology associations gave me a community.

How are you involved in the community?

Any chance I get to mentor and encourage students, I take it — these opportunities bring me so much joy. I have been part of the ACE and PWC mentor programs, NBBBS Mentor U, CWHF STEMfems, CIC events, and most recently an adjunct faculty in architecture at the University of Hartford.

What do you like to do outside of work?

You’ll find me gardening, hiking with the dogs, or taking a country road, no destination, stopping at open farms! I enjoy discovering Connecticut towns, cafes and bookstores. I can also be found taking a course on CreativeLive, reading Karen Russell or Jane Austen, or watching “World of Dance” and “Songland.”

What part of work life did you miss most during the pandemic?

I’m missing those moments of spontaneity that can happen when a bunch of creatives work in the same space. We’ve been collaborating digitally, but there’s a very different resonant energy when you surround yourself with multiple teams exploring an array of solutions.

Four reasons why you deserve to be a 40 Under Forty:

Organize an annual health and wellness week for our firm focused on knowledge sharing and actionable insights.

Gathered a group of A/E/C women together for an all-day workshop hosted by CWHF mentoring students interested in STEM careers.

Within local organizations and my alumni network, I am dedicated to mentorship, community-building and connecting people with opportunities and resources.

Authored articles, and featured in press, podcasts and radio events as an advocate for sustainability, wellness and research-based design.

Fun Fact

I am a goat nanny at Bradley Mountain Farm in Southington.
