Architecture firm Pickard Chilton announces promotions

New Haven-based architecture studio Pickard Chilton recently promoted six of its professionals.

“The growth of Pickard Chilton has been in large part due to the creative and innovative talent that makes up the studio, and each of these professionals have played a significant role in those contributions,” said Principal William Chilton.

Owen Howlett is now associate principal. Howlett, who joined the firm in 2015, is currently leading the design teams for several large-scale, mixed-use master plans including developments like the Le Coeur project in Düsseldorf, Germany, and CoStar Group’s new corporate campus in Richmond, Va. 

Andrew Gorzkowski and Thomas Frechette are now senior associates. 

Gorzkowski, who joined the firm in 2013, is currently a project designer for 887 West Peachtree, an office tower that will be among the tallest in midtown Atlanta. 

Frechette, who has more than 30 years of design experience, is currently co-leader of the design of the CoStar Group’s new campus.

Lila Sferlazza, Macario Bandera and Sofia Zavala each have been named associates.

Sferlazza is currently a designer for a corporate mass timber campus in California. She recently was a designer for 325 Main, Google Cambridge’s next-generation headquarters in Cambridge, Mass. 

Bandera is serving as project designer for Sherwin-Williams’ 36-story new corporate headquarters in Cleveland. 

Zavala is a project designer for the PG&E Block Redevelopment in San Francisco.
