Area chefs, HSO to explore music-food connection

Alan Grant Treva's dish: Tagliolini al Nero

The Hartford Symphony Orchestra and area chefs will collaborate for the second time on a food-themed concert that incorporates music from popular movies, HSO announced.

The April 26 ‘Playing With Food’ event will feature chefs from seven restaurants who have created a dish inspired by movies such as ‘Pirates of the Caribbean,’ ‘Star Wars,’ and ‘Magnificent Seven.’

Chefs will share tips and other information about their respective dishes, and the orchestra will play music paired to each dish by HSO Conductor Carolyn Kuan.

Participating restaurants include Apricots Restaurant and Pub, Grants Restaurant and Bar, Restaurant Bricco, Max Downtown, Treva Restaurant, A’vert Brasserie, and Trumbull Kitchen.

Part of the proceeds from food purchased at the event will go to HSO’s education programming.
