A Taiwan-born bubble tea and wholesale food distribution business has leased an 8,510-square-foot industrial space in Old Saybrook.
Yu Cha Corp, which also has offices in Queens, is leasing a portion of a 20,160-square-foot building at 8 Custom Drive, which is close to Exit 66 off of I-95.
Terms of the lease were not disclosed.
Brokers Frank Hird and Will Braun of O,R&L Commercial in Branford represented the landlord, ZZZ & I LLC and also procured the new tenant.
Yu Cha Foods launched as a family-owned business in Taiwan in 1999, according to the company’s website.
Under the name of Yu Cha Corp., it has grown in recent years, and now is a bubble tea and wholesale food distribution business serving the New York metropolitan area.
The business teamed up with Hoja Food in 2017, to become its exclusive distributor in New York, New Jersey and throughout New England.
The Old Saybrook site is Yu Cha Corp’s New England regional distribution location.
The company distributes an array of products, such as tea, boba, concentrated syrups for use in drinks, liquid cane sugar, jellies, seasoning powders, noodles and more.
