AT&T’s CT head Emra promoted to take over Atlantic region

AT&T has appointed John Emra president of its Atlantic region, where he will lead the company’s strategy, policy and corporate affairs activities, as well as guide governmental and community policy decisions.
 
AT&T’s Atlantic region consists of the six New England states, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, West Virginia, Virginia and the District of Columbia.
 
Emra began his career at AT&T in 2001 and worked as its regional vice president for external and legislative affairs in Connecticut until being named president of Connecticut in 2013. For the past two years, he served as the president of the New England region.

Before joining AT&T, he was a consultant to the company working on the formulation of national broadband policy development by the U.S. Congress and Federal Communications Commission as well as serving as the company’s media spokesperson.  
 
His other professional experience includes more than 20 years in the field of strategic communications including electoral politics, government service, and legislative advocacy. 
 
Emra, who lives in Fairfield, is also an adjunct professor of communication at Fairfield University.
