Avelo Airlines adds 3 more nonstop routes from Tweed-New Haven Airport

Gary Lewis | Hartford Business Journal After three years of service from Tweed New Haven, Avelo is establishing service from Bradley, including direct flights to Jamaica and Mexico.

Avelo Airlines has added more service at Tweed-New Haven Airport, with nonstop flights to  Melbourne/Cocoa Beach, Florida; Daytona Beach, Florida; and Greenville/Spartanburg, South Carolina.

Avelo is the only airline in Connecticut offering nonstop service to these destinations, the company said.

All three routes begin this week and operate twice weekly on Boeing Next-Generation 737 aircraft.

Fares start at $49 for flights to the two Florida destinations. Fares start at $69 for Greenville/Spartanburg.

The Melbourne/Cocoa Beach service begins Wednesday and operates twice weekly on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Flights to Daytona Beach and Greenville begin Thursday and operate twice weekly on Thursdays and Sundays.

Avelo now serves 17 nonstop destinations from Tweed.

“It’s exciting to see the inaugural flights to these three new destinations take off this week from Tweed-New Haven Airport, providing residents with additional leisure and business travel opportunities – and, importantly, providing individuals from those cities and states with the opportunity to come to New Haven and experience all our city has to offer as well," New Haven Mayor Justin Elicker said. "Since Avelo Airlines began its first flight in November 2021, Tweed-New Haven Airport continues to grow in popularity with rising ticket sales and new destinations and is serving as an important transportation asset and jobs engine for the city and the region.”
