Avelo Airlines adds 4 nonstop routes from Tweed and another international route from Bradley

Avelo Airlines continues to expand its service from Connecticut, announcing Monday that it will add four new nonstop routes and one international route from the state.

Starting in February, Avelo said, it will add nonstop service from Tweed-New Haven Airport to Jacksonville, Florida (JAX), Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas (DFW), Detroit (DTW), and Portland, Maine (PWM).

In addition, and also beginning in February, it will add service to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic (PUJ) from Bradley International Airport. That flight will be the third international destination served by Avelo from Bradley, joining flights to Cancun, Mexico (CUN), and Montego Bay, Jamaica (MBJ).

With the addition of these five new destinations, Avelo will operate 39 routes from Connecticut — 31 from Tweed-New Haven and eight routes from Bradley.

In addition to announcing the new destinations, Avelo also said that in January it will position a seventh Boeing Next Generation 737-800 aircraft at Tweed-New Haven.

Last month, Avelo launched seven new routes from Bradley International.
