A sprawling 250-acre golf course in Avon has hit the market for $1.75 million.
Blue Fox Run, a 27-hole golf course designed by architect Stephen Kay, is located at 65 Nod Road, near the Avon Land Trust trail to the Heublein Tower.
The property contains two structures. One is a 6,000-square-foot clubhouse with offices, a bar and grille with outdoor seating, and a golf shop.
The second building, which is 5,872 square feet, is a maintenance barn with storage for golf carts and operations equipment.
The course will be sold at an auction set for 11 a.m. Sept. 26. Registration begins at 10 a.m. The minimum bid is $1.75 million.
This is the the latest Connecticut golf course to be put up for sale in Connecticut, as the game has experienced a resurgence in post-pandemic interest, but also what some describe as an oversupply of courses.
Blue Fox Run opened in the early 1970s and is owned by Blue Fox Run Golf LLC, which is controlled by LWF Holdings Inc., whose principal is Lisa Wilson-Foley, a prominent entrepreneur.
The golf course property is equidistant from New York City and Boston, according to the real estate listing from Commercial broker Colliers International, which is brokering the deal.
Open houses are set for Sept. 5, Sept. 12 and Sept. 19 from noon to 3 p.m.
