Aware Recovery Care expands, names new chief operating officer

Aware Recovery Care, a Wallingford-based provider of mental health and substance abuse treatment, has appointed Martha Mather as its new chief operating officer.

Aware also announced it plans to soon offer services in Kentucky. It already serves Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Maine, Virginia, Florida, Ohio and Indiana.

The company expects to launch in New York and Georgia in 2023.

As COO, Mather will work closely with Aware's CEO, Dr. Brian Holzer, to oversee the company’s operations as it seeks to expand across the country.

Previously, Mather was the CEO of UofL Health – Peace Hospital in Louisville, Ky. Mather has served over two decades in executive roles in behavioral health organizations and hospital systems. She is clinically trained as a licensed professional counselor.
