Hartford's Dunkin' Donuts Park was named the best Double-A baseball stadium in the nation for the third time, a record for the Ballpark Digest rankings.

The Hartford Yard Goats Baseball Club, the Double-A Affiliate of the Colorado Rockies whose home base is Dunkin' Donuts Park, announced the victory Wednesday morning, noting that no other team has won the honor three times.

“It’s a tremendous honor to be recognized as the best Double-A ballpark in America for a third time, particularly in light of the difficult year we’ve all been through and the number of new ballparks that have opened recently,” Yard Goats General Manager Mike Abramson said.

Ballpark Digest previously gave the No. 1 spot to Dunkin' Donuts Park in 2017 -- the year it opened -- and 2018.

Kevin Reichard, Ballpark Digest's publisher, on Wednesday touted community enthusiasm surrounding the baseball stadium and the Yard Goats.

“Dunkin’ Donuts Park has been a huge success since opening, and this vote shows once again how the Yard Goats have connected with the greater Hartford community,” Reichard said. “The Yard Goats story is one of the most successful in all of baseball, and a win this year confirms that status.”

After canceling its season last year due to COVID-19, the Yard Goats have hosted fans at Dunkin’ Donuts Park at full capacity since their opening game May 11. Since Connecticut dropped its mask mandates May 19, fans who have been vaccinated are not required to wear masks.
