Barnes Aerospace announces $33M extension of agreement with MTU Aero Engines AG

Barnes Aerospace said Tuesday it has signed an extension of a long-term agreement with Germany-based MTU Aero Engines AG valued at $33 million to supply engine parts.

Barnes said its original equipment manufacturing (OEM) plant for aerospace components in Singapore will produce the parts, which will be used in Pratt & Whitney’s A320neo and A220 engines and Gulfstream G500 and G600 engines. 

Barnes, which also operates an aerospace manufacturing facility in Windsor, said the agreement is part of a strategy to grow the company by expanding customer relationships and providing diverse capabilities with differentiated service offerings.

Barnes Aerospace, a business of Bristol-based Barnes Group, manufactures and maintains highly engineered parts for the aerospace and related industries worldwide.

MTU Aero Engines AG is an aircraft engine manufacturer based in Munich, Germany. It operates a subsidiary, MTU Aero Engines North America, in Rocky Hill.
