Battiston’s of Avon is a dry cleaning/fabric care company that serves 17 communities throughout the greater Avon area.
Tell us a bit about your recent accomplishments.
Managing a small business during a global pandemic is no small feat. Many businesses were forced to work from home and temporarily retire their dress shirts, creating challenges for the dry-cleaning industry to face. Despite these obstacles, Battiston’s of Avon remained strong in sales and core competencies and made its services as accommodating as possible.
Where do you see your business in the next five years?
We are focused on continuing to grow our home delivery business while working on our specialized products such as draperies and rug cleaning.
What are your family values and how do they contribute to your business success?
Avon’s priorities include supporting customers when, where and how they need it. We stick true to our company’s roots, realizing that everyone has different circumstances. Route service reps will make specific arrangements with customers regarding time, place and location of delivery.
What are your guiding business principles?
Battiston’s of Avon is more than a business; it’s a family. Michael Maulucci started working for Lino Battiston at the age of 15 and went on to become the company’s president and owner at just 21 years old. Now, Michael and his sons, Alexander and Matthew, serve 17 communities throughout the greater Avon area. They pride themselves in their knowledge of all things fabric care.
How do you plan to keep your business going even after your current top executive retires?
The benefit of being part of a family business is that our family has had the opportunity to learn and grow the business for most of our lives. Our strong family connection, along with our localized community support, leave great opportunities for growth for us. We are very much excited about the future.
