More Information

Beth Henry is responsible for the team that develops and executes marketing strategies to drive growth in support of Cigna’s U.S. commercial and government business segments. She is accountable for bringing the business’ value proposition to life and creating compelling, data-driven marketing programs that promote Cigna and position its products and solutions for success with key buyers and stakeholders.

Henry re-joined the marketing organization in 2014 as vice president and head of global marketing operations. She serves on the board of directors for Foodshare, a nonprofit dedicated to fighting hunger in Greater Hartford. She and her husband have four children.

Q: What’s been your biggest professional accomplishment so far?

I’ve worked on acquisitions, re-branding and building new functions. I’m a continuous problem solver. As board chair of Connecticut Foodshare, we completed the biggest nonprofit merger in state history last year and that has had a huge impact on people who are food insecure across our state.

Q: What’s the next big goal you want to accomplish professionally?

I’m ready for a new challenge as a broad-based marketer so I’m looking for that next growth frontier to sink my teeth into.

Q: What’s one of the biggest professional challenges you’ve overcome?

As a working mom, I’ve felt the weight of unrealistic standards of perfection I set for myself. I’ve learned to embrace the amazing juggling act of my work and home life. Some days are harder than others but I get the job done – with grace, humor, agility, tenacity and commitment.

Q: How has the COVID-19 pandemic forced you to adapt as a leader?

COVID has made me more purposeful in how I engage my team. Even something small, like opening up meetings with some fun discussion and banter, is so important. It gives people the time and space to connect on a personal level and that builds a team culture.

Q: What do you like to do outside of work?

I’m a soccer mom. You’ll find me at one of my kid’s games most weekends.
