A 2.5-acre East Hartford property that was part of Stone Academy is on the market again, a little after its last sale and for significantly more money.
Career training school Stone Academy closed in early 2023, disrupting lessons for hundreds of students enrolled in campuses in East Hartford, Waterbury and West Haven.
In January 2024, a broker announced the two properties that comprised the East Hartford campus had been sold to different buyers.
A 1.4-acre property at 763 Burnside Ave. sold to a pair of clinical social workers interested in using a 4,547-square-foot office building on the site.
The neighboring 2.53-acre property at 745 Burnside Ave. sold for $600,000 to a New York investment group interested in conversion into multifamily use. This property hosts a 12,768-square-foot classroom building completed in 1988 and a 4,481-square-foot office building dating to 1909.
The property at 745 Burnside Ave. is up for sale again, this time with an asking price of $1.27 million.
“It has a lot of potential for development,” said Michael Collins, of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices New England. “You could do multifamily. You could do senior living. There are a lot of things you could fit there.”
Collins and John Vercelli, of ERG Commercial LLC, are listing the property.
Collins said 745 Burnside Ave. has attracted significant attention in eight days on the market, with at least two potential buyers lined up to tour the site already.
