Black Friday brings special hours to Westfarms mall

Westfarms mall is extending its hours the day after Thanksgiving, which is Black Friday.

The mall will open at 6 a.m. Friday, kicking off a weekend of retailer sales and promotions.

J.C. Penney will open even earlier than the mall itself, with shopping starting at 5 a.m. Friday.

Also on Friday, Macy’s will be open from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m., and Nordstorm will be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

“We are seeing Black Friday deals well in advance of what used to be a traditional one-day shopping event,” said Elizabeth Ryan, general manager of Westfarms. “These sales and promotions have already begun, and we are expecting them to stretch out into the early part of December and beyond.”

Westfarms’ newest anchor store, Jordan’s Furniture, is expected to open in the former Lord & Taylor space in the first quarter of 2024.
