The Boys & Girls Clubs of Hartford has a new CEO. Bruce W. Jeffery will take up the post on March 3, 2025.
He’s currently the chief youth development officer for the YMCA of Greater Cincinnati, and was previously the executive director of the Decatur, Illinois Boys & Girls Club.
“We are delighted with Bruce’s appointment and are thrilled to welcome him to the city of Hartford and to the BGCH community,” said Ping Hsieh, Executive Board Chair of BGCH. “We conducted an extensive nationwide search and are extremely pleased with the search process and the result.”
“I am humbled and honored to join and lead this incredible organization and to build upon its strong historic legacy of impact,” said Jeffery. “I am excited to be working alongside our dedicated staff, volunteers, Board of Trustees and supporters to create even more opportunities for young people to learn, grow, and thrive.”
Previous CEO Sam Gray Jr. stepped down from the post last year, after being promoted to the national Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s vice president for the northeast region. The organization has been led since September by interim Chief Executive Ron Hadorn.
