The Connecticut Airport Authority (CAA) is expecting a busy holiday season through the rest of the year, with an estimated 110,000 passengers expected to travel in and out of Bradley International Airport.
Airport officials expect the busiest time periods for the end of the year holiday season — from Dec. 20 to Dec. 31 — will be between 4 a.m. and 7 a.m.
Nationally, AAA said earlier this month that it projects 115.2 million travelers will travel at least 50 miles from their homes between Dec. 23 to Jan. 1. If the projection holds, the number of travelers will be the second highest, after 2019, since AAA began tracking the data in 2000.
Using information from transportation data provider INRIX, AAA predicts that Dec. 23 and Dec. 28, will be the busiest days on the road.
While most will be driving to their destinations, AAA said it expects 7.5 million people will use airports, which would surpass 2019’s record.
