What’s been your biggest professional accomplishment so far in your career?

My best professional accomplishment is being selected as a “New Leader in the Law” for the Connecticut Law Tribune’s sixth annual Professional Excellence Awards. The awards honor “attorneys and judges who have made a remarkable difference in the legal profession in Connecticut.”

How are you involved in the community?

For years 2018-2019 and 2019-2020 I served as the chair of the real property section of the Connecticut Bar Association Young Lawyers Section Executive Committee. Through that role I was able to host several continuing legal education events related to the commercial real estate space.

What do you like to do outside of work?

Work and family accounts for a lot of my time, but on the weekends, we like to enjoy nature by visiting local parks. It is a good way for us to reset before the week begins, and a great way to get exercise.

How did dealing with the coronavirus pandemic help you grow as a leader?

The coronavirus pandemic has illustrated to me that leadership today is about giving your team the freedom to create previously unseen opportunities to elevate their own capacity and the capacity of the firm. Strategic change is my best method for leadership development.

Four reasons why you deserve to be a 40 Under Forty:

I am an asset to my firm and play many diverse roles within the firm.

I am committed to improving the business environment in Connecticut and seeking out leadership roles in local organizations.

I am passionate about problem solving and giving back to the communities I live and work in.

I am a member/former treasurer of the George W. Crawford Black Bar Association.

Fun Fact

At 16 years old I was featured on the Oprah show for a multicultural panel.
