Bristol efficiency signups to help charity

Bristol residents who have their homes audited for energy efficiency will donate indirectly to two of the city's charities.

Three Home Energy Solutions vendors – Handyman Express-Energy Solutions, Victory Energy Solutions and Wesson Energy – all decided to donate $25 to the Boys & Girls Club of Bristol and the Mayor's "Bristol Cares" Committee for every city resident who signs up for an energy efficiency assessment by the end of the year.

The assessments include sealing air leaks, replacing light bulbs, insulating pipes, and making recommendations for equipment upgrades.

The assessments cost $75 for homes heated with electricity or natural gas and $99 for homes with fuel oil.
