A Bristol couple that owns Dusty Dude Woodworks is launching a new marketplace in the city that will allow various small businesses to sell their wares to customers.
Carolyn and Erik Verikas are opening the Bristol Bazaar in a 5,800-square-foot space at 67 Race St., that will feature upwards of 40 artists, crafts vendors, and other small businesses as tenants.
Carolyn Verikas said the bazaar, which will open for business in early January, is available to any small business that offers products made by hand, including arts and crafts, baked goods, soaps, and clothing items, among others.
To date, Verikas said, 14 vendors have signed up.
The Verikas’ are leasing the property and have three pay structures for vendors. They include a 90-inch by 30-inch table, the lowest price option; a five-foot long vendor cart; and a 9-foot by 5-foot long storefront. Verikas declined to discuss the cost to lease space.
Vendors must lease for at least one month and the bazaar will be open year round, she said.
The bazaar also features a “think tank” where tenants can meet with clients, collaborate and brainstorm.
The bazaar will be open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday; from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday and Saturday; and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays. It will be closed on Mondays.
A kick-off event will take place Dec. 14 at 3:30 p.m. at 67 Race St., which will feature dignitaries including Mayor Jeff Caggiano and other city and business leaders.
