Burns & McDonnell's Wallingford office at The Campus at Greenhill has been awarded LEED gold.

The 27,635-square-foot space received the second highest honor from the U.S. Green Building Council's Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design program for its sustainable site development, water savings, energy efficiency, and indoor environmental quality.

The Wallingford office space for the Kansas City-headquartered consulting firm is 15.1 percent more efficient than similar spaces of standard design, using 30 percent less lighting power and 36 percent less water.

Burns has updated its section of The Campus at Greenhill since choosing it as its northeast headquarters more than a year ago. The building has substantial natural lighting, a training room, auditorium, fitness center, and plug in stations for electric vehicles.

The 305,000 square foot Campus at Greenhill was designed by Integrated Architecture of Grand Rapids, Mich. and is owned by Workstage-Connecticut LLC. Cushman & Wakefield, with offices in Hartford, leases and markets the facility.
