A cafe has opened at the Hartford Public Library’s main location in the city’s downtown.
Berkins on Main recently opened inside the library, which is currently closed for renovations, at 500 Main St. It relocated from its former home at the Wadsworth Atheneum.
A grand opening was held Wednesday, though Berkins on Main opened for business at its new location in mid-December.
Berkins has two other locations – Berkins Blend Cafe at 1003 Hebron Ave. in Glastonbury, and Berkins on Oak at 21 Oak St. in Hartford.
Berkins, established in 2015, offers breakfast, lunch and catering options.
Berkins on Main is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The downtown library is expected to reopen this summer or early fall.
Entrepreneurs Andrea Hawkins and her husband, Doug Barber, own the business, Berkins Family LLC.
