CareCentrix targets better care coordination
CareCentrix, a home care health management company, announced that it has engaged with athenahealth Inc., a provider of cloud-based services and mobile applications for medical groups and health systems. The goal of the engagement is better care coordination.
Hartford-based CareCentrix said in a statement working with athenahealth allows the latter’s clients to send durable medical equipment orders electronically to CareCentrix. It will reduce redundancy and improve accuracy for the 23 million Americans who have access to homecare services coordinated by CareCentrix through its nationwide network of 8,000 credentialed provider locations.
According to CareCentrix, across the healthcare system, care coordination remains inefficient due to redundancy, manual inputs and errors. It said its new affiliation creates better order transmission processes and collaboration between physicians and supply chain partners.
