CBIA elects new, ‘most diverse’ board of directors

Contributed CBIA has elected its most diverse board of directors ever.

Members of the Connecticut Business & Industry Association (CBIA), the state’s largest business organization, have elected a new, highly diverse board of directors for the organization.

CBIA is made up of leaders from a wide range of businesses and industry sectors from across the state.

The election results were announced Wednesday during CBIA’s annual meeting, held at the Hartford Marriott. The new directors will serve four-year terms beginning Dec. 1.

Elected to the board were:

  • Timothy Diemand, partner, Wiggin and Dana, Hartford
  • Maureen Gallo, president, Beekley Corp., Bristol
  • Derrick Gibbs Jr., founder, Budr Cannabis, Middletown
  • Susan Jackson, office managing partner, KPMG LLP, Hartford
  • Rebecca Karabin-Ahern, co-president, ACME Monaco Corp., New Britain
  • Jacqueline Laramee, president, NDC Commercial Construction Inc., Plainville 
  • Anthony Medici, senior director of manufacturing, Medtronic, North Haven
  • Christina Oneglia Rossi, vice president, Business Development, O&G Industries Inc., Torrington
  • Nicole Russo, CEO & president, Microboard Processing Inc., Seymour

CBIA president and CEO Chris DiPentima said the new board is the “most diverse” in the organization’s 209-year history.

“Not only do they represent a wide variety of industries and business sizes from all corners of the state, but for the first time, we have more women than men on our board,” he said.. 

The board will elect a new chair to succeed Fuss & O’Neill Inc. President and CEO Kevin Grigg during its first meeting on Dec. 4. Grigg will remain on the board as immediate past chair.
