Chamber to host 6th annual career fair Feb. 15

Calling all job seekers and students seeking internships: the Greater New Haven Chamber of Commerce is hosting its 6th Annual Internship, Career & Job Fair.

The event will take place from 1 to 4:30 p.m. on Feb. 15 at the Shubert Theatre, at 247 College St., New Haven.

The fair is geared toward college students, soon-to-be graduates and post-graduates from the area’s six major colleges and universities, in addition to regional talent of all ages. The event connects people with an array of employers from across the region and state.

Chamber President and CEO Garrett Sheehan said the fair is an excellent opportunity for both job seekers and employers.

“Filling open internships and jobs is a critical need for our businesses today,” Sheehan said. “The Career Fair offers the perfect opportunity for our regional talent to connect in person with employers.”

The participating employers have a variety of positions open, such as in sales, early childhood, financial services, business development, health care, manufacturing, research and development and more.

Workshops will be available throughout the event to educate attendees on career prep and transition. There will be presentations, resume coaching and an opportunity to get professional headshots.

Some of the employers participating include: Access Health Connecticut, Albertus Magnus College, BYK-USA, Cornell Scott-Hill Health Center, DeMartino Outdoor Media, Gateway Community College, Gaylord Specialty Healthcare, Holo-Krome Company, Infra-Metals Company, JCC of Greater New Haven, Lulac Head Start, Inc., NESCO Resource, New Haven Promise, Northwestern Mutual Financial Network, Nucor Steel Connecticut, Retreat Behavioral Health, Southern Connecticut State University, Shubert Theatre, Ulbrich Stainless Steels & Special Metals, Inc., the University of New Haven, The Workplace and Workforce Alliance.
