After opening a downtown Hartford branch, JPMorgan Chase Bank is continuing its regional expansion.
The New York-based bank, which operates under the brand name Chase Bank, has filed an application with Glastonbury planning officials to establish a new branch at 109-117 New London Turnpike, near the intersection with Hebron Avenue, according to town records.
The site is close to People’s United, Santander and Webster Bank branches.
Meantime, applications from Chase Bank to its federal overseer, the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, reveal the bank is pursuing a number of other Greater Hartford locations.
In recent months, OCC approved branches in South Windsor, West Hartford and Enfield.
The South Windsor branch is planned at the intersection of Buckland Street and Buckland Hills Drive -- right between The Plaza at Buckland Hill and The Shoppes at Buckland Hills.
The West Hartford branch is located in West Hartford Center, at the intersection of North Main Street and Farmington Avenue.
The Enfield location is located in Brookside Plaza along Hazard Avenue.
A spokesperson for Chase said that the bank intends to have six additional branches open by 2021, including the West Hartford, South Windsor and Enfield locations.
The flurry of branch activity will change the geographic presence of Chase Bank in Connecticut, which until recently has been concentrated entirely in Fairfield and New Haven counties. As of June 30, Chase had $5.82 billion in Connecticut deposits, according to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp.
Correction: An earlier version of this story gave an inaccurate description of Chase's West Hartford branch location.
