Check out new CT biz that launched this summer

There were about 4,030 new businesses that started up in Connecticut during the month of July vs. 1,322 that stopped operations, according to data from the Secretary of the State’s office. 

That net gain of 2,708 businesses was up significantly from the year-ago period when 6,888 businesses stopped operation and 2,796 new companies formed, for a net loss of 4,092, according to SOS office data.

For the year, Connecticut has seen 21,592 business starts and 11,778 business stops for a net gain of 9,814 new businesses. During the same time period in 2019, there 22,062 business starts and 22,048 business stops, for a net gain of only 14 businesses.
