Salsco Inc., a turf maintenance equipment manufacturer based in Cheshire, has been acquired by Wisconsin-based Foley Co., a manufacturer of shop tools for the golf and turf industry, the companies announced Tuesday.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Salsco, founded by Sal Rizzo in 1979, employs about 70 people at its facility at 105 Schoolhouse Road in Cheshire. Its products are sold by more than 200 distributors nationwide.
The company designs and manufactures all of its more than 40 products at its Cheshire facility. Its products include golf course equipment, turf and sports field equipment, chippers, shredders, vacuums, landscaping and grounds maintenance equipment, paving and curbing equipment, and hay silage equipment.
"Joining forces with Foley Co. marks a significant milestone for SALSCO,” Rizzo said. “Together, we can leverage our strengths and create even more impactful solutions for our clients."
Foley Co., based in Prescott, Wisconsin, specializes in manufacturing precision reel grinders and bedknife grinders, which are used to maintain turf mowing equipment. Established in 1926, Foley partners with many of the world's top golf courses.
