A Cigna Healthcare executive has been named the new leader of the Bloomfield-based company’s Medicare and individual and family plan businesses, according to an announcement.
Chris DeRosa, Cigna's president of U.S. government, will succeed senior adviser Chuck Berg in the role.
DeRosa has more than 30 years of experience with Cigna. Prior to becoming president of U.S. government, he was the president of U.S. commercial national accounts segment and broker exchange. He has been working through a transition of business responsibilities with Berg since January, the company said.
DeRosa will focus on “leveraging secular growth trends to strengthen and expand the reach and geographic expansion, while delivering a seamless end-to-end customer experience,” Cigna said in the announcement.
He has expertise in customer reporting and analytics, service delivery, and regional market growth strategies.
David M. Cordani, chairman and chief executive officer of The Cigna Group, thanked Berg for his service and said that DeRosa will “further capitalize on our growth opportunities through product enhancements and expansion.”
