Cirque du Soleil returns to Hartford with ‘Corteo’ production

Cirque du Soleil will be back in Hartford later this year, and tickets are set to go on sale next week.

Corteo, an arena production from Cirque du Soleil, will be at the XL Center for five shows from Dec. 15 to Dec. 18. Cirque Club and XL Center Cyber Club members can already purchase tickets for the shows, but general sales open at 10 a.m. Monday, July 18.

Hartford is one of the first stops on Cirque’s upcoming North American tour, and organizers said this is the first time the Corteo production has been in the city. According to Cirque, the production is directed by Daniele Finzi Pasca and first premiered in Montreal in April 2005. The show has been put on for more than 10 million spectators in 20 countries on four continents, organizers said.

General tickets will be available July 18 at XLCenter.com.

Cirque du Soleil has brought several of its productions to Hartford over the past few years, including its Big Top performance in 2019. COVID-19 forced the company’s 2020 shows to be canceled in the state.
