Colony Hardware Inc., which is headquartered in Orange, announced Wednesday it has acquired B&L Bolt, Inc., and Slip-On Lock Nut LLC, a Michigan-based distributor of struts, fasteners, power tools and other supplies to construction and industrial customers.
Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
Colony Hardware distributes construction materials and jobsite supplies, and its customers include construction firms and contractors. It provides a range of products, including power tools, vacuums, generators, utility pumps and personal protective equipment.
It has 48 branches across the Northeast, Midwest, mid-Atlantic, mid-South and Florida.
B&L Bolt, which has locations in Grand Rapids and Kalamazoo, Mich., was founded in 1986. It primarily services electrical and mechanical contractors and manufacturers.
Tim Rash, CEO of Colony, said B&L Bolt and Slip-On Lock Nut are leaders in the Michigan market and beyond.
“Their dedicated associates bring a reputation for providing quality customer service,” Rash said, in an announcement.
Dave Vander Ploeg, CEO of B&L, said he is excited to join forces with Colony Hardware.
“The combination of companies is a wonderful fit for our people, and our company cultures dovetail nicely,” Vander Ploeg said.
This deal represents Colony’s 11th acquisition since it partnered with Audax Private Equity in November 2018.
Young Lee, Audax managing director, said of the latest acquisition, “Strategically, this deal helps to further position Colony Hardware as the direct-to-jobsite supplier of choice for contractors.”
