Orange-based Colony Hardware Corp. announced Thursday it had acquired New South Construction Supply LLC, which distributes rebar, concrete, masonry, waterproofing products and contractor supplies.
Colony is a direct-to-jobsite distributor of supplies and construction materials.
Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
The South Carolina-based New South, which was founded in 1981, has locations throughout South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia and Florida. It has customers in a range of industries, including commercial, residential, industrial, waterproofing, restoration and road-and-bridge contractors.
Tim Rash, CEO of Colony Hardware, said the deal represents Colony’s largest partnership to date.
Jim Sobeck, CEO of New South, said the company is “proud” to become part of the Colony Hardware family.
New South will keep its people and locations, and the company plans to add more locations to better serve contractors across the southern U.S., according to Sobeck.
“With Colony's leadership and reputation, I look forward to seeing New South continue on its growth trajectory with Colony’s backing,” Sobeck said.
The deal represents Colony’s 12th acquisition since it partnered with Boston and San Francisco-based Audax Private Equity in November of 2018.
In November, Colony Hardware acquired B&L Bolt, Inc., and Slip-On Lock Nut LLC, a Michigan-based distributor of struts, fasteners, power tools and other supplies to construction and industrial customers.
Colony Hardware has 59 branches across the Northeast, Midwest, Mid-Atlantic, Mid-South and Florida.
