First County Bank has notified state regulators it plans to close one of its Stamford branches.
The Stamford-based bank, with $2.1 billion in assets, said it will close its branch at 275 Hope St., as of March 1, 2024, according to the Connecticut Department of Banking.
The full-service branch was established in 1996 and had $103.1 million in deposits as of June 30, 2023, according to data from the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. The bank currently owns the building, which it purchased in 1996 for $901,000, city records show.
Through the first three quarters of 2023, First County reported $8.2 million in profits, flat from the year-ago period, FDIC data shows.
The bank currently has 14 branches, all in Fairfield County, including seven in Stamford, according to the FDIC.
