CT Children's highlights female surgeons through #MomSurgeons campaign

Connecticut Children’s Medical Center has launched a social media and advertising campaign highlighting its nine female surgeons who have children at home, part of a campaign to inspire young females to consider the profession and close its significant gender gap.

The campaign, #MomSurgeons, is profiling each of the nine surgeons on its Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram channels, and website and billboards in the greater Hartford area.

“We wanted to bring attention to the fact that we are moms too. We truly understand what our patient families are experiencing when their child is heading into surgery,” said Christine Finck, surgeon-in-chief at Connecticut Children’s. “We also understand the daily struggles many moms face trying to find that work-life balance. It’s hard. We get it.”
