Connecticut Children’s Injury Prevention Center (IPC) has announced it intends to award $2 million to fund projects that will provide community violence intervention and prevention efforts.

The IPC said last week the effort is being funded with money from the state Department of Public Health in collaboration with the Commission on Community Gun Violence Intervention and Prevention.

Under IPC’s request for proposals, community-based agencies with innovative and effective approaches to community violence intervention and prevention are encouraged to submit their proposals. Proposals must be received by 3 p.m. on Aug. 2.

The funding opportunity seeks to foster community-driven solutions to reduce violence and enhance safety in neighborhoods across Connecticut, ICP said.
