Connecticut companies secured more than $128 million in military contracts in recent weeks, according to the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), including a combined $84 million spread across two contracts for Groton-based Electric Boat.

Submarine maker General Dynamics Electric Boat picked up two major contracts from the U.S. Navy last week, including $45.8 million to aid missile submarine systems for both the Navy and United Kingdom. Electric Boat will give the Navy and U.K. engineering and technical support services for weapon systems and subsystems for both ballistic missile submarines and guided missile submarines.

Most of the work for the contract, 60%, will be completed in Groton, while the rest will be done at other locations across the country. Work is expected to be completed in 2029.

Electric Boat also picked up a $38.2 million contract option to continue its Nuclear Regional Maintenance Department support at the Naval Submarine Base in New London. Work for that contract will be done by August 2025, the DoD said.

Also last week, Collins Aerospace subsidiary Hamilton Sundstrand, based in Windsor Locks, was awarded an $8 million contract to develop an enhanced power and cooling system for the U.S. Air Force. All the work will be done at the company’s headquarters and is expected to be completed in early 2026.

Sikorsky Aircraft Corp., a Lockheed Martin Co. business based in Stratford, won a $36 million contract from the U.S. Navy to update hardware for the Marine Corps’ CH-53K King Stallions, one of Sikorsky’s heavy transport helicopters. About 63% of that work will be done in Stratford. The contract is expected to be done in 2027, DoD said.
