CT has five on CNN's “Best Places'' list

West Hartford, Bristol and three more Connecticut communities are listed as five of the "Top 100 Best Places to Live" in CNN Money magazine's August 2010 issue.

West Hartford came in at No. 55, followed by No. 78 Stamford; No. 84 Bristol; No. 87 Hamden and No. 90 Norwalk.

In the issue, West Hartford was praised for its educational system, retail stores and vibrant ethnic restaurants.

Stamford stood out because of its boating, proximity to New York City and overall diversity.

Bristol received high marks for its commitment to sports, having the nation's oldest continuously operating amusement park and being 225 years old.

Hamden was hailed for its beaches and mountains and college-town energy, with nearby Quinnipiac, Yale and University of New Haven.

Norwalk was recognized for its rich maritime history and activities, business-friendly environment and a unique educational system.
