Connecticut Public has named a new host for its popular “Where We Live” morning show.
Catherine Shen, who joined Connecticut Public in 2021 as an education reporter, will take over as the community affairs show’s full-time host starting Monday, Feb. 6.
She replaces Lucy Nalpathanchil, who stepped down from the host position last year to become Connecticut Public's new vice president of community engagement.
As education reporter, Shen explored the impact of the pandemic, including student mental health, teacher shortages and challenges in early childhood education.
She also moderated the second Congressional district debate hosted by Connecticut Public leading up to the 2022 midterm elections, and has been a regular guest host on Where We Live.
A Los Angeles native, Shen came to Connecticut Public after a decade of reporting across the country, including work at the New Britain Herald.
