CT Realtors endorse Lamont in reversal from 2018

Connecticut Realtors, the state’s largest trade association, has endorsed Gov. Ned Lamont over Republican Bob Stefanowski for the 2022 gubernatorial election.

“Decisions made by Governor Lamont and his administration over the past four years have allowed Connecticut real estate to thrive,” said Connecticut Realtors President Tammy Felenstein. “Governor Lamont kept the real estate industry as an essential business, which was extremely important to the more than 10,000 buyers and sellers under contract at the start of the pandemic.”

The group endorsed Stefanowski in 2018, after Gov. Dannel P. Malloy opted not to seek re-election, leaving the seat open.

Connecticut Realtors’ incoming president for 2023, David Gallitto, said Connecticut’s real estate industry and its economy are tied.

“Governor Lamont has proactively worked to reduce property taxes and continues to support policy
decisions making Connecticut the right place to live and work,” Gallitto said.
