CT - U.K. insurtech accelerator partnership will begin recruitment for first cohort next week

Connecticut and other U.S. insurtech companies planning to expand operations into Europe will have a new option to do so beginning next month with the launch of an accelerator program, organizers announced.
According to information from InsurTech Corridor, a partnership between trade and government organizations in Connecticut and the U.K., recruitment for the first cohort of U.S. insurtech companies to participate in the accelerator program will begin next week during the InsurTech Hartford Symposium.
InsurTech Corridor launched last year as a collaboration between the U.K. Government’s Department of Business and Trade, the Connecticut Insurance and Financial Services trade association, the state Department of Insurance, MetroHartford Alliance, InsurTech UK and state Department of Economic and Community Development.
In the first stage of the partnership, more than a dozen U.K companies participated in the program to prepare for entry into the U.S. market.
Now in the second stage of the initiative, companies based in the United States will have the same opportunity their United Kingdom peers had in 2022. According to information from InsurTech Corridor, the accelerator provides support and industry connections to help companies test their proof of concepts and learn market insights at no cost.
A team from InsurTech Corridor made up of both U.S. and U.K. trade and innovation experts will exhibit at InsurTech Hartford Symposium next week on May 2 and 3, along with several of the U.K. firms that participated in the first cohort last year.
In October, organizers announced the annual insurtech symposium was moving from the Connecticut Convention Center in downtown Hartford to Mohegan Sun Casino & Resort for 2023.
