CT Water names new president

Connecticut Water Service Inc. announced Friday that Craig J. Patla, vice president of service delivery, will become president of the company starting Jan. 1, 2023, following the current president’s retirement.

Maureen P. Westbrook, president of Connecticut Water Service and the Connecticut Water Co., will retire effective Dec. 31, 2022.

Westbrook began her career at the company in 1988 and has been president since October 2019.

Connecticut Water Service, owned by the publicly traded company SJW Group, serves 460,000 people in 81 towns and cities in Connecticut and Maine and has more than 3,000 wastewater connections in Southbury.

Patla began his career at Connecticut Water in 1990 as a field engineer working on drinking water infrastructure projects. He has worked on water utility matters with state regulators at the Department of Public Health, the Public Utilities Regulatory Authority, and the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection.

Patla, a licensed engineer, has a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Massachusetts. He lives in Madison.
