Hartford-based law firm Day Pitney has completed its acquisition of Rhode Island trusts and estates boutique Howland Evangelista Kohlenberg.
Day Pitney officials said eight attorneys, including named partners Renée A. R. Evangelista and A. Max Kohlenberg, have joined the firm’s individual clients department. Day Pitney is retaining all of Howland Evangelista Kohlenberg’s personnel and the firm’s office in Providence, where Evangelista will serve as managing partner, they said.
“When the opportunity came about to bring Howland Evangelista Kohlenberg onto our team we knew it would be a great fit in terms of the strategic values of our firm, practice areas, culture and geography,” said Thomas D. Goldberg, Day Pitney’s managing partner. “Renée and Max created the preeminent trusts and estates firm in Rhode Island, and we are delighted to be able to call them and their entire team Day Pitney colleagues.”
Day Pitney first announced the merger in March. Financial details of the linkup were not disclosed.
Day Pitney has nearly 300 attorneys operating out of 14 offices along the East Coast, including in Connecticut, Massachusetts, New York, Rhode Island, New Jersey, Florida and Washington, D.C.
